Pope calls for ‘revival’ of Libyan peace efforts

Once again, instead of taking action, all the Pope does is talk nonsense…

Being that he believes he has all the answers to the world’s ills, why doesn’t the Pope do something about global issues instead of simply making stupid comments?

In this particular instance, we are dealing with Muammar Gaddafi, who has certainly proven that he is a just and reasonable man. Correct? Why of course… Since the Pope believes in negotiations and constructive dialogue, why doesn’t he charter his private jet down to Tripoli and have a face-to-face meeting with Gaddafi. I am “certain” that if Pope Benedict XVI does this, Gaddafi will realize he’s wrong for wanting to continue to rule his country after a 40-year reign and will immediately relinquish his authority. Correct? Why of course…

Why doesn’t the Pope just mind his own business? He should first and foremost be trying to figure out how to rid his church of pedophile priests. Once he cleans up his church, assuming he ever doesn, then he can worry about other things. TGO

Pope Benedict XVI urged the international community Sunday to “revive” their search for a peace plan for Libya, saying force was not the answer.

“I exhort the international organisations and those who bear political and military responsibility to revive with conviction and determination the search for a peace plan for the country, through negotiations and constructive dialogue,” the pontiff said in a weekly address to pilgrims at his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo, just outside Rome.

“Force of arms has not resolved the situation,” said the pope.

Libyan rebels fighting forces loyal to Moamer Kadhafi surged down from the mountains south of Tripoli Saturday, claiming the capture of a strategic town on the path to the capital and pushing toward the Mediterranean.
