John Paul blood placed in Polish church as relic

In every other regard Catholic Church leaders are a bunch of clowns, and this is putting it mildly. But I have to admit, they are also astute businessmen. They look for anything and everything to generate publicity and in so doing to draw the ignorant masses to witness this or witness that, knowing that they’re going to leave their “offerings” behind. You see, at the end of the day the Catholic Church, like all religions, are all about one thing – money!  TGO

WARSAW, Poland – A relic containing the blood of the recently beatified Pope John Paul II has been placed in the altar of a new church in Krakow.

John Paul, the Polish-born pope who remains deeply revered in his homeland, was beatified May 1 at the Vatican by his successor, Benedict XVI. With his beatification, the faithful are now able to venerate such objects as relics.

The Polish news agency PAP reported that a reliquary containing a drop of John Paul’s blood was placed Saturday in the new Sanctuary of the Blessed John Paul II in Krakow. John Paul rose from parish priest to archbishop in that southern Polish city.

Krakow Archbishop Stanislaw Dziwisz said in a Mass that the blood recalls the sacrifice John Paul made in serving Christ when he was shot by a Turkish gunman in 1981.
