I have heard what I consider to be ridiculous statements throughout my life. One of the most absurd comments was made to me during a get-together by an acquaintance of mine who said that God personally spoke to him (personally, not a voice in his head, not a feeling, but personally spoke to him) and in doing so guided and supported him through a difficult time following his divorce.
