This video is a narration of the writings from Thomas Sowell, pictured below. I consider him to be one of the great intellectuals of the last 50 years.
Here, the discussion deals with personal responsibility, which is a waning concept these days, and it’s no wonder why. As the government in this country becomes more and more socialist in nature and provides more handouts and social services to the masses, people take less responsibility for themselves and rely more on governments to ‘do something’ for them. This is one of the many reasons why socialism fails; because it creates an apathetic mindset and attitude in people, which in turn is reflected as a general malaise on society, and eventually society as a whole decays.
