GO PATRIOTS!

I don’t know what sucked worst; the Super Bowl game itself, or the half-time show by Madonna? If I had to guess, I’d say it was the lame, and I mean LAME, half-time show!

I don’t know if they put a leash on her; but what the f*ck; that was pathetic! They may just as well have had the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performing the half-time show instead of Madonna. What a disappointment!

By the way, even the commercials STUNK. This Super Bowl SUCKED all the way around! TGO

Many people would hate spending a minute in a museum of modern art because they don’t like modern art even though there are modern master pieces. Like all art forms, and musical performance art is no different, the only absolute truth is in the viewer’s reality and no where else. Agreement or disagreement does not change the viewer’s view. Here are some views around cyberspace.

“We didn’t watch the game but we saw the Halftime show and Madonna was just amazing ! What a performance. and the stage, dancers, singers, special effects, etc were just the best we’ve seen.”

“Madonna remains a global superstar and holds the record for the highest-grossing concert tour ever by a female artist. This Queen of Pop wows us again and we look forward to her future performances.”

“Madge killed it in her halftime show, even earning love from the hard-to-please and often overly critical social media madding crowd. She looked amazing and belted out classics “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer” alongside her new song “Give Me All Your Luvin’” and 2000′s “Music.” Okay, so she tripped on the bleachers (who wouldn’t in those sky-high boots?), and maybe M.I.A. gave her the finger mid-song (did she or didn’t she?) —But Madonna certainly proved her prowess as a professional and a performer, with a clean, solid show featuring old favorites and a new song that has her classic, catchy persona written all over it.”

There are hundreds of results when you search Twitter for Madonna right now. Some are questioning the performance’s legitimacy, but most are praising Madonna for her incredible show and commenting on a certain finger lifting, and yes, to viewers – whether there was one or a million – that thought it suck, it did suck, in their reality.

Personally, what I love most about Madonna the person, the woman, is how she lived her entire life – 3, 4 decades ago and right now – based upon a simple yet consciousness freeing principle: “Judge me, see if I give a fuck”

Obviously, there are going to be differing opinions on the Super Bowl halftime show, just as there are differing opinions on everything else; it doesn’t take a genius to state the obvious. Whether or not someone likes or dislikes something is based primarily on two factors: personal taste and expectations.

In terms of Madonna’s performance, I PERSONALLY disliked the cast of dozens upon dozens of people (in much the same way I dislike marching bands). I also PERSONALLY expected a more personal (if not sexier) performance from Madonna.

In short, for me PERSONALLY, there was too much fluff and not enough Madonna.

P.S. When one gets the Stones, one gets Mick Jagger, when one gets the E-Street Band, one gets Bruce Springsteen, when one gets U2, one gets Bono. I expected to get Madonna; not a Roman army.

Obviously, a quarterback doesn’t have to be good looking to win a Super Bowl.
