Little did the authors of the Koran and the Bible realize the amount of pain and suffering that all the garbage they made up in those silly, superstitious texts would cause throughout the centuries. If nothing else this proves the level of gullibility and ignorance possessed by the masses, who truly believe these books to be holy. Yet these books are about as holy as the Iliad and the Odyssey; both of which are mythology. And the difference between those Greek works, the Koran and the Bible? Nothing! For all intents and purposes, we may as well be worshiping Zeus, Hera, Apollo, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Athena, et al instead of Allah, Muhammad, God and Jesus Christ. You see folks, it’s all make-believe.
We’ve got a long way to go before we can be considered an intelligent species. We’re just the most advanced species on our planet, but that doesn’t make us intelligent; we’re only “intelligent” in relative terms. TGO

KABUL (AFP) – The Taliban praised protests over the burning of a Koran by a US pastor despite the resulting deaths in Afghanistan of at least 24 people in a statement released Tuesday by one of its spokesmen.
The emailed statement also denied that insurgents had been involved in the demonstrations and sharply criticised the Afghan police’s handling of the protests.
The comments, from Taliban spokesman Dr Tariq Ghazniwal, said the Taliban viewed with “pride and satisfaction” the “Islamic enthusiasm, ideological conscience and resurgence shown by the Afghan people” in the demonstrations.
“The recent incident of the burning of the Holy Koran has caused great pain to the Afghans,” it said.
“Therefore, as a last option of solution, they resorted to launching demonstrations and protests, causing small and vast demonstrations to be taken out in all parts of the country from the north to the south.”
Condemning Afghan police for their handling of the protests, the statement also said there was “not an iota of truth” in claims that “there were armed opposition members among the demonstrators.”
At least 24 people have been killed in a recent wave of protests in Afghanistan over last month’s burning of a copy of the Koran by a pastor in the southern United States, including seven United Nations employees.
The Taliban has previously condemned the original Koran burning as “despicable.”
In a separate statement monitored by the SITE intelligence group, the Taliban said the US and the UN Security Council were responsible for the deaths at the protests.
“The burning of the Holy Koran by the American priest and the silence towards it by America and the United Nations have shown that the aforementioned priest is not alone in committing this horrible crime, but they are standing behind the conspiracy,” said a translation made available by SITE.
