Response to GhostRider’s post regarding my Religious Poll

Mr. GhostMan,

I’ll try to be brief, as I realize you suffer from ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and consequently are unable to focus for even brief periods of time; hence, your confusion with my poll.

Not that I need to give you an explanation as to why I set up MY poll the way I did, but I will nevertheless indulge you with a clarification, one which you no doubt will ignore because of your ‘consciousness’ bullshit.

My Blog has over 46,000 visitors from approximately 185 countries across the globe. What this means is that many of the people who visit my Blog are not Christians, Muslims or Jews, and as such do not relate with nor consider themselves believers in the “traditional” Judeo-Christian God. This is the reason I went through my whole dissertation. Trust me when I tell you; you may know a great deal about a great many things, but your knowledge of religion (as compared to mine) is quite poor. I’ve read most of the Bible, a good portion of the Koran and dozens of books on philosophy, religion and history. The bottom line is that I obviously know that people who believe in reincarnation (for instance) do not necessarily believe in God. Neither do most Scientologists, Numerologists, Astrologers, etc. However, all of these people share something in common; a belief in the supernatural. Since I know you’re big on Wikipedia, following is a snippet on what it states with regard to the supernatural:

The supernatural is anything above or beyond what one holds to be natural or exists outside natural law and the observable universe. Science limits its explanations for phenomena to natural explanations, a process known as methodological naturalism, and cannot consider supernatural explanations, as they cannot be investigated empirically.

Supernatural themes are often associated with paranormal and occult ideas, suggesting the possibility of interaction with the supernatural by means of summoning or trance. In secular societies, religious miracles are typically perceived as supernatural claims, as are spells and curses, divination, and the afterlife.

In short, anything that occurs naturally is not supernatural and vice versa, and since events such as reincarnations, resurrections, etc. have never been scientifically proven, just as the existence of God or gods has never been proven, they may accurately be classified as supernatural beliefs.

And finally, talk about spins; you interject your ‘consciousness’ crap into every conceivable subject and discussion; even when talking about freaking plants! Additionally, you continue to bring up quantum physics, a field of study you know absolutely nothing about. So you tell me, which one of us is the REAL spin-doctor?

In closing, whether 100% of the people answering MY poll say they believe in God, don’t believe in God, or have no opinion one way or the other makes no difference to me as I don’t benefit whatsoever from their response. Therefore, to imply that my poll was somehow rigged shows just how twisted your thinking is. By the way, you’re about as much of a Free Thinker as I am a communist, and I can assure you (and you well know) that I am not a stinking communist.

Cheers to you, your consciousness and your love…

TGO
