As with most things in the media, these sexual harassment/sexual misconduct allegations have gotten way out of hand. It seems that all of a sudden all men in the public eye have behaved inappropriately towards women, or in the case of some, such as Kevin Spacey, towards men.
What is most absurd in all of these cases is that the allegations are surfacing now, yet the inappropriate behavior occurred years or even decades ago#%#*!?
Stop already! You women who are now alleging that so and so sexually harassed you in 2001, or 2009, or 1997, etc. are a bunch of hypocrites. Why are you coming out now? Why not then? Was that part in a movie or TV show more important? Was getting that raise worth the sexual advances? Was the promotion worth being touched/fondled/groped? Did you not realize that this man or these men were coming on to you and simply ignored it because it was convenient to look the other way at the time?
From a very young age women know how men are; not just in the workplace but throughout the entire spectrum of society. Men hit on women in bars, clubs, supermarkets, parks, beaches, schools, in buses, simply walking down the street, etc. This is just the way it is. Women aren’t going to change that. The more attractive you are, the more you’re going to get hit on. If you are attractive and flirtatious, you’re going to get hit on even more. The laws of nature are not going to change because all of a sudden women feel offended by men.
Inappropriate behavior should never be tolerated, PERIOD. However, women (grown women) are very astute and know quite well when a man has gone too far. Women also know how to put a stop to that, that is, if they want to.
My advice to women, if a man acts inappropriately, STOP IT RIGHT THEN AND THERE! But please, don’t come back years after the fact with all of these claims and allegations.
The fact that people’s reputations and entire careers are being destroyed by mere allegations is truly pathetic. TGO
