Casey Anthony surfaces in Ohio, will fight probation

I’m actually quite surprised that Casey Anthony is out in public so soon after her acquittal; especially since there has been talk of death threats against her. I would have thought that at least for a couple of months there would be people taking care of her until the public and media frenzy diminished.

In terms of her probation, my uneducated guess is that her attorneys will be successful in getting this waved. TGO

Casey Anthony’s whereabouts were finally revealed today as pictures surfaced of her shopping in Ohio.

Anthony, who has been keeping a low profile since her acquittal on murder charges last month, wore an Ohio State University baseball cap, a tight-fitting top and glasses as she walked around town, TMZ reported.

The 25 year old blended in with other shoppers as she looked at dresses and accessories in a local Old Navy store on Sunday.

Anthony has several relatives who live in Ohio but it is not known if she has spent time with any of them.

She has been moving around the country ever since she was acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee, and will reportedly seek treatment for mental issues, according to TMZ sources.

Anthony’s attorneys have challenged a judge’s ruling that will force her to return to Orlando, Fla., to face one year of supervised probation in a check fraud case, arguing that the order would put her in danger, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Judge Stan Strickland in Orlando recused himself from the case on Wednesday. His order did not say why.

Earlier this week, Strickland ordered Anthony back to Orlando to meet a probation officer to start a year of probation.

Strickland sentenced Anthony to probation in January 2010 for using checks stolen from a friend. Corrections officials interpreted the sentence so that she served the probation while in jail awaiting her murder trial

Strickland says he meant the probation period to start upon her release.

Defense attorney Cheney Mason filed an emergency motion at the Orange County Courthouse late Tuesday for a hearing “to quash, vacate and set aside” Judge Stan Strickland’s recent amended order regarding Anthony’s probation, accusing the judge of “unbridled prejudice” due to statements he made following Anthony’s acquittal.

The motion said Anthony has received several threats to her life.

Court administration spokeswoman Karen Levey said Tuesday that no hearing on the probation matter has yet.

if you knew what Double jeopardy is you’d realize that she isn’t going to be charged and tried for anything that she has already been charged and tried for.
