Apple has more cash than the federal government

That the United States got to this point is disgraceful! And what’s worse is that the stinking bureaucrats in Washington are still playing politics and can’t come up with a plan to get things going in the right direction.

People get all excited about presidential elections, believing that their candidate of choice is the “right person” for the job. The truth of the matter is that it really makes little difference who is elected. This country is run by a few individuals who push all the buttons behind the scenes. Elected officials are just there for show, as front-men; much the same as the Pope is the representative for the Catholic Church. In the end, Republicans, Democrats; they all SUCK! TGO

Who’s ready for iAmerica?

As the BBC has reported, the software company Apple has more cash on hand than the United States federal government, according to the company’s financial records.

Apple’s quarterly financial report shows that the company responsible for the iPad, iPod and the iPhone now has $76.4 billion in reserve cash, while the Treasury Department is sitting on just $73.7 billion.

The feds could probably learn a thing or two from Apple’s success. Congress remains embroiled in a debate over spending and whether the federal government, which currently owes trillions in debt, should be allowed to borrow even more. International credit rating agencies have threatened to downgrade the national debt for the first time in the nation’s history if Washington doesn’t come up with a solution to lift the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling while implementing a concrete plan to get the nation’s financial house in order.

Meanwhile, Apple’s financial report shows that the company’s profits, even through the last recession, are booming.

After having worked 2 local elections in Miami-Dade county, I believe the problem really lies in the tiny voter turn-out that plaques our country and the solution also lies in numbers. In my district I had about 2500 registered voters with about 242 actually showing up to vote – pretty pathetic if you ask me. But you know what? The political “machine” prefers it that way as it is much easier to influence 10, 15%, even a quarter of the voters, than to attempt to influence, manipulate, sway half of the population and God forbid, everyone. My solution is simple. We the people, must lose our right, “not to vote.” Plain and simple. Then if we get another Bush that screws up our country worse – and remember, when I say screws up the country, I mean for people like us, not for the Warren Buffets – then hell, it was our choice. Just like a man with a 30 shot AR15 seems to be a formidable opponent, up against a surging crowd of a couple of hundred, and even if that crowd is unarmed, he still would not stand a chance. A Sara Palin may very well be able to influence and manipulate a piece of the pie, but never that whole pie.

I say, mandatory voting, $50 fine per missed election, 3 missed votes and get a 90 day DL suspension. Keep in mind that voting in today’s age doesn’t mean going to a booth and standing in line. Absentee ballots make it virtually possible for everyone to vote.

I get your point but don’t believe that’s the solution to the problem; and by way, I don’t have a solution either.

What difference does it make if every single adult citizen in the United States votes, if the people being nominated are all assholes? It seems only assholes can be politicians. For example, just look at the stiffs that the Republican party is putting out there; and I’m only talking about the presidential candidates! Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney – and who knows what other moron will crawl out from under a rock between now and next year. Hell, I’m still almost in disbelief that the people of this country were stupid enough to vote for George W. Bush – TWICE!

Which brings me to my other point: not only are our candidates ineffective (to say the least) but what about the American public? The population of this country is definitely not comprised of educated, well-informed individuals. People in this country elect their leaders simply because they are Republicans, or Democrats, or good-looking, or charismatic, or Christian; whatever. The masses in this country are totally clueless. They couldn’t care less about the important things, but talk to them about American Idol or Dancing with the Stars… and all of a sudden Americans are experts. The bottom line is that this country is f*cked…
