Not really sure where the “news” is in this story, but I’m posting it anyway. It’s almost like a news story that reads: Alaskan authorities captured a 1500 pound grizzly bear. Where is the news in that? Florida has alligators, Alaska has grizzly bears. Animals get bigger as they get older; just like people. Surprise! TGO

Florida authorities wrestled a gigantic, 13-foot alligator into submission on Sunday.
Sarasota County sheriff’s deputies posed in a line with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers to show the sheer size of the gator.
The reptile is believed to be the largest alligator deputies have ever responded to, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
The gator was apprehended in Shamrock Park, a nature center along the coast of Sarasota County.
A trapper ended up taking the alligator away, according to the sheriff’s office.
